Ocean Explorers
Vikings were pioneers in the science of oceanography. The Draken continue that legacy by exploring the oceans to inspire and educate people about the ocean as the foundation for life and a healthy planet. Draken has also recently started to collaborate with researchers with the mission to he collect microplastic samples for Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California.

The World's largest Viking Ship sailing in modern times
With great interest for sailing, boatbuilding and vikings the project to build and sail the greatest viking ship of modern times started. The curator of the project, Sigurd Aase, wanted this extraordinary ship to follow in the wake of one of the most challenging viking explorations – the Viking discovery of the New World.
“The aim of the Draken Harald Hårfagre project is to explore the world and embrace the Viking spirit – to look beyond the horizon and seek adventure and to inspire people to take on challenges.”
